OUTREACH SERVICES

When other counseling options are not available, Children’s Inn provides outreach services and follow-up counseling to past clients who were victims of domestic abuse, elder abuse, dating violence, sexual assault, and child abuse & neglect.

  • Staff will attend weekly Order for Protection court hearings in Minnehaha County to offer support to those women seeking a permanent order for protection.
  • Staff will attend court hearings relating to domestic violence cases in the South Dakota counties of Minnehaha, McCook, Turner, Lincoln, and Union, if requested by the victim.
  • Staff will respond to calls by area hospital emergency rooms that are treating someone whose injuries are a result of domestic violence.  If requested by the patient, a Children’s Inn staff member will go to the emergency room to lend support, and to offer information and referral assistance.
  • Masters-level counselors are available for on-going counseling services to past clients.  When possible, referrals are made to establish counseling agencies in the community.
