Supporting the programs & services of
Children's Home Society |
A word of Thanks...
Rick Weber, Development Director
Working
at a place like Children’s Home Society provides a unique perspective
about the world we live in. On one hand, we see some of the greatest
challenges. We serve children with emotional, psychological or mental
health problems that are beyond the control of caring parents. We also
help young children who have experienced the trauma that comes from
physical abuse, sexual abuse, and severe neglect. Their wounds are
invisible, yet the harm done is profound. On the other hand, we witness so much that is good and right in our world. We are humbled by resilient children, parents who love their children and do their best, caring foster & adoptive families, talented staff, committed volunteers, and generous donors. In addition to cash gifts, we receive tangible items for the kids such as Christmas presents, clothing, and bicycles. Then there are gifts of much-valued goods and services that help our events and special projects be the best they can be. Some friends have made the ultimate personal commitment to the CHS mission by making a planned gift through a bequest in their will or other ways. It is an honor to know so many who truly care about the needs of others and choose to take action. This is philanthropy at its best. We are so grateful for the generous friends who support our mission. And we would welcome many more! As our CHS family of partners grows, so will our ability to respond to those children that need us all. |
