Foundation to Proceed with Campaign Plans

During the late fall months of 2006, and into the beginning of 2007, dozens of information meetings were held across the state, hosted by board members and friends of Children’s Home Society (CHS) and were attended by nearly 350 friends.  The goal of these meetings was to acquaint people with future funding concerns and space needs, and to share the plan to build an endowment to safeguard the future of Children’s Home.

The Board of Directors met to receive the results of a feasibility study that was based upon attendee interviews.  The results indicate strong support for such an endowment and expansion campaign.

The Board voted unanimously to proceed with plans for a major campaign that will raise $4.7 million for the endowment, $2.3 million for building expansion, and $1 million in deferred gifts. 

This campaign will be a major step toward the long-term goal of building an endowment fund that will support 25% of the annual operating budget for CHS.

Recruitment of volunteer leadership for this campaign has begun, and advance gifts from those that participated in the feasibility study process have already been received.  A formal campaign launch is planned for 2008.
